ALS hits family hardMy name is Teresa, I had a brother who got the ALS when in his 50’s,no one in our family has history of this. He died within 6 months of diagnosis. My mom at 85 died 8 weeks later and now I have no family at all so I do hope someday that someone finds out what causes this bad disease.
He had wife,2 kids and grandson and it was his family who took care of him till the end. Why won’t the doc’s tell the people the truth,I believe they know how too just believe they won’t. ...Read the full article

I DO care and am very sorry for your losses. I was diagnosed 30 yrs. ago with ALS, and thank god every day that it was a misdiagnosis. I was told by the Dr. that originally diagnosed me, what would happen to me within a year, how I would be drooling out the side of my mouth and having someone wipe it for me, all the while being totally mentally aware of what was happening to me. At that time, I had a 3 day old daughter, and was devastated. There are people that truly care about you, and what your family is going thru. I myself am 51, and all my family, except for my sister, have passed on. It was very hard for me when my mom, and best friend died. But just know, there are lots of Dr.s working on this disease, and hopefully, will come up with more info soon. Until then, just know that many people care.
