Foot Pad blistering, & ItchingMy age 59 wife has swollen/fatty foot pads that develop severe itching, and almost dime sized blisters and larger areas of peeling skin. Because of back problems, she is not physically active, and is not on her feet as much as she would like. The symptom begins under the surface of the pad. It's as if there was some small hard piece of material about 1/8 to 1/4 inch beneath the skin; sometimes this develops near the base of the toes, and other times near the center of the pad. Next the itching and then blistering and skin peeling develop. Her foot Dr. who is treating her bunion thought it was Athlete's foot, but wasn't sure. Tinactin doesn't help. Nightly Hyrdrocortisone and Benadryl cream relieve some of the symptoms. The condition has persisted for 5 months now. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help...
Sponsored LinksRe: Foot Pad blistering, & ItchingIt is probably a type of eczema or psoriasis. A skin biopsy would diagnose the condition definitively so you can know how to treat it. Good luck and please write back if you have any further questions.
